Getting Around
Parking Lady

Walking - By far the best way to get around the island. Restaurants and shops are so close and parking is so scarce, this is your best option. During spring break, it's really the only sensible way to get around.

Trolley - Ft Myers Beach Trolley runs from Bowditch Park at the north end of the island down to Lover's Key (aka Grandview) just off the southern end of the island. The Trolley stops about every quarter of a mile at the Trolley Stop signs but will stop upon request if traffic allows. It comes about every 15 minutes and costs just 25 cents. Often times it's faster to walk. For the schedule and more information go to www.rideleetran.com/TrolleymapMap.htm.

Car - Unless you're going a long distance, leave your car at the house. Traffic can be very slow and parking rare. Of course, it's worse during spring break.

Bike - Rent a bike at Fun Rentals (463-8844) at Ohio Street (one block south of Miramar). This way you can bypass the traffic if it's too slow for your liking.

Taxi - Several taxi companies have service in the area. They will take you to and from the airport for about $25-$35 or are happy to do local trips. Some of the companies are Errol's (770-3333), Best Value Taxi (768-1898), Local Motion (463-4111) and Paradise (470-7500). If you like (or dislike) one in particular or if you have other suggestions let us know.
